NWGACIL TO HOST EVENTS TO CELEBRATE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT

Sunday, July 26^th marks the 30^th anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Northwest Georgia Center for Independent Living will celebrate this milestone with a pair of upcoming events.

The ADA will be the focus of the center’s weekly Peer Support Call slated for Monday, July 27^th and of a two-part community discussion via the Zoom app set for July 23^rd and 30^th from 2 pm until 4 pm, asserts NWGACIL Executive Director Maia Santamaria.

Santamaria adds that the ADA ensures equal opportunity to Americans with disabilities primarily in regards to public and government access, as well as employment.
