NWGACIL TO HOST EVENTS TO CELEBRATE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT

Sunday, July 26th marks the 30th anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Northwest Georgia Center for Independent Living will celebrate this milestone with a pair of upcoming events.

The ADA will be the focus of the center’s weekly Peer Support Call slated for Monday, July 27th and of a two-part community discussion via the Zoom app set for July 23rd and 30th from 2 pm until 4 pm, asserts NWGACIL Executive Director Maia Santamaria.

Santamaria adds that the ADA ensures equal opportunity to Americans with disabilities primarily in regards to public and government access, as well as employment.

The public may get more information about these and other offerings of the Northwest Georgia Center for Independent Living by calling (706) 314-0008 or by emailing [email protected].
