AAA: GEORGIA’S GAS PRICES DIPPED SLIGHTLY OVER THE PAST WEEK

Georgia’s gas prices dropped slightly over the past week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists statewide are now paying an average price of $2.00 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline. That is one cent less than a week ago, two cents more than last month, and 62 cents less than at this same time last year.

It now costs $30.00 to fill up a 15-gallon tank of gasoline; that is $11.10 less than what motorists paid in April 2019, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.74 per gallon.

Rome is among the least expensive metro markets in Georgia with an average of $1.94 a gallon.

AAA spokeswoman Montrae Waiters says, “Decreasing demand for gasoline contributed to the drop in pump prices this week. If the demand continues to drop, pump pirces could push even cheaper in the coming week.”

Sunday’s national average was $2.18 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline; that is a cent less a week ago, a cent more than a month ago, and 56 cents less than this time last year.
