Almost 168,000 people in Georgia have been infected with coronavirus while the death toll nears 3,500, per the state Department of Public Health.
According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm on Sunday afternoon, there have been 167,953 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. A total of 3,498 fatalities have been attributed to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 1,047 confirmed cases and 15 deaths. Fulton County led the state in number of confirmed cases with 15,843 and fatalities with 372.
