DOWNTOWN SATURDAYS MAY BE CANCELLED FOR ’20, THOUGH THE ROME DDA SAYS DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES STILL NEED THE SUPPORT OF THE PUBLIC

The Downtown Saturdays series that is held annually by Rome’s Downtown Development Authority has been called off for 2020, but the DDA continues to encourage locals to support businesses in downtown Rome.

Megan Otwell, PR Director for the Rome DDA, states that while Downtown Saturdays have been cancelled to keep the community safe in the days of the coronavirus, all Romans are needed to support local businesses – from a safe social distance, of course.

This would have been the fourth year of the Downtown Saturdays series, now slated to return in 2021. Downtown Saturdays usually take place on the first Saturday of each month, which means that this Saturday would have been the date of August’s event.

Otwell urges all Romans to follow Downtown Rome, GA on social media for updates on happenings and businesses in downtown Rome.
