The Atlanta Braves fell to the New York Mets 7-2 on Monday evening in the finale of a four-game set at Truist Park, which marked the end of a five-game winning streak for the Braves.
It was a tough night for pitcher Mike Soroka, who went down while trying to cover first base in the third inning with what turned out to be a season-ending injury.
After the game, it was announced that Soroka tore his right Achilles tendon; he is now out for the rest of the season.
One bright spot of the night for the Braves was a solo home run from Travis d’Arnaud off of his former teammate Jacob deGrom in the bottom of the fifth inning.
The Braves will open a three-game interleague series versus the Toronto Blue Jays this evening at Truist Park. First pitch is set for 7:10 pm. The game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9; air time is 5:55 pm.
