Close to 198,000 people have been infected with the coronavirus as the death toll nears 4,000, per the state Department of Public Health.
According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm on Tuesday afternoon, there have been 197,948 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. A total of 3,921 fatalities have been attributed to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 1,307 confirmed cases and 15 deaths. Fulton County had the most confirmed cases with 18,566 and the most fatalities with 406.
