ONLY TWO MORE DAYS REMAIN OF EARLY VOTING IN AUGUST 11TH RUNOFF ELECTION

Two more days remain of advance voting in the August 11th run off election. Floyd County voters may cast early ballots either today or Friday from 8 am to 5 pm at the county’s Administration Building on East 4th Avenue.

The runoff will determine who will represent the Republican party in the 14th Congressional District race; candidates include Marjorie Greene and Dr. John Cowan. The winner will face Kevin Van Ausdal, the Democratic nominee, in November. Also in the runoff election, Tom Caldwell and Dave Roberson are vying to become Floyd County’s next Sheriff. Both are Republicans; there is no Democratic opposition for that post in the fall.

Luke Martin, Chairman of the Floyd County Republican Party, acknowledges that run-offs typically draw a low voter turn-out; however, it is important that all GOP voters cast their ballots in this election.

All voting precincts across Floyd County will be open on Election Day from 7 am until 7 pm.
