BRAVES WRAP UP FIRST HOMESTAND OF THE YEAR WITH WALK-OFF WIN OVER BLUE JAYS

The Atlanta Braves wrapped up their first homestand of 2020 with a victory over the Toronto Blue Jays 4-3 on Thursday evening in the finale of a three-game interleague set at Truist Park. It allowed the Braves to take that series two games to one.

Nick Markakis had a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Braves to victory.

Freddie Freeman got Atlanta on the board with a two-run shot in the bottom of the first.

Mark Melancon was credited with the win for the Braves, while Wilmer Font took the loss for the Jays. Atlanta’s starter Touki Toussaint had a career-high nine strikeouts and allowed three runs over six and two-third innings.

The Braves went 7-2 on this homestand. They will be in Philadelphia tonight for the first of four outings with the Phillies. First pitch is slated for 7:05 pm. The game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is set for 5:50 pm.
