IT HAS BEEN A BUSY SUMMER FOR GEORGIA STATE PARKS AND HISTORIC SITES

Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites have been packed with visitors during the past few months. According to Kim Hatcher, Public Affairs Coordinator, camping has been a popular activity – and it’s a lot more comfortable now in yurts at High Falls State Park (located in Jackson) with the recent addition of air conditioning. A/C is already featured in yurts at Fort Yargo in Winder and is coming soon to Tugaloo in Lavonia.

Hatcher urges all Georgians to visit www.gastateparks.org for information on parks around the state.

Camping tends to stay full at state parks nowadays, asserts Hatcher, who adds that reservations are needed even for weekdays.
