IT’S THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR FLOYD COUNTY AND ROME CITY SCHOOLS!

Today is the first day of school for students at Floyd County and Rome City Schools, which will open for in-person and virtual instruction.

In a video intended to welcome faculty and students back to class, Lou Byars, Rome City Schools Superintendent, acknowledged that five full months have passed since the local schools closed and all learning went virtual because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Superintendent Byars also outlined changes made to the system’s policies and procedures in this four-part video series posted on Sunday via the Rome City Schools – GA page on Facebook.

Stay tuned to both school systems’ social media outlets for updates pertaining to their return to the classroom in this era of coronavirus.
