EXCHANGE CLUB FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER SEEKS WAYS TO MAKE UP FOR SHORTFALL IN FUNDING DUE TO CANCELLATION OF COOSA VALLEY FAIR

The Exchange Club Family Resource Center is now tasked with finding new ways to raise funds, in light of news earlier in the week that the Coosa Valley Fair has officially been cancelled for 2020 due to coronavirus concerns.

Tina Bartleson, FRC Executive Director, says that the fair typically generates about $20,000-$25,000 per year for the center. It’s about seven percent of the FRC’s budget. Bartleson indicates that somehow, those funds will have to be replaced; options are currently being explored.

Bartleson encourages those who normally attend the fair to make a donation to the FRC, which is also open to ideas for a virtual fundraiser.

Interested parties may donate to the Exchange Club Family Resource Center online at www.exchangeclubfrc.org. Call (706) 290-0764 to learn additional ways to contribute to the center.

The FRC will benefit from the 9th annual “Tee Off Against Child Abuse” Jim Bishop Memorial Golf Tournament scheduled for September 2nd. There is no additional space for teams, but sponsorship opportunities remain available at this time, states Bartleson. And registration is now open for the Gary Tillman Memorial Clocktower 5K Road Race and Two-Mile Health Walk; this event, that is normally held in mid-August, is now slated for November 21st.
