DAVE ROBERSON SAYS HE LOOKS FORWARD TO SERVING AS THE NEXT FLOYD COUNTY SHERIFF

Dave Roberson is looking forward to serving as Floyd County’s next Sheriff. Roberson was selected by voters in last Tuesday’s run-off election to succeed Tim Burkhalter, who will retire at the end of this year.

As a Sheriff’s office employee for over 25 years, Roberson says that he wants to be part of the effort to continue moving the office in a positive direction.

Public service, asserts Roberson, is a part of his family’s legacy in Rome and Floyd County. His father, the late Lonzo Roberson, had a 40-year career with the Rome Police Department. Roberson states that if his father were still here today, he would no doubt have a few words of advice for his son…

Roberson prepares to take office amid uncertain times due to the coronavirus pandemic. He indicates that he is poised to tackle all of the questions that are anticipated to arise.

Roberson is currently division commander for field operations for the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office. He went on hiatus while campaiging for Sheriff and is expected to be back at the office this week.
