MORE THAN 237,000 IN GEORGIA HAVE BEEN INFECTED WITH THE CORONAVIRUS AS DEATH TOLL SLIGHTLY EXCEEDS 4,700

Just over 237,000 people have been infected with coronavirus, and the death toll slightly topped 4,700 on Sunday in Georgia, per the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 237,030 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the state. A total of 4,702 fatalities have been attributed to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 1,805 confirmed cases and 20 deaths. Fulton County had the state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 21,993 and the most fatalities with 474.

A number of Floyd County Schools students and staff have been quarantined following a possible exposure to coronavirus, including Coosa High School, Coosa Middle School, and Pepperell Primary School.
