JUST UNDER 2,400 NEW CASES OF CORONAVIRUS REPORTED IN GEORGIA ON WEDNESDAY

Just under 2,400 new cases of coronavirus were reported as the death toll rose by 56 in Georgia on Wednesday, per the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest report issued by the DPH just before 3 pm, there have been 243,982 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the state. A total of 4,849 fatalities have been attributed to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 1,871 confirmed cases and 20 fatalities. Fulton County reported the most confirmed cases with 22,760 and the most deaths with 479.

Coosa Middle School eighth graders were quarantined on Wednesday due to a possible exposure to COVID-19. The Rome City Schools currently have a total of 170 students and 18 staff members in quarantine.
