Tim Herrington, the Director of the Floyd County Emergency Management Agency, urges every local to download the Floyd EMA mobile app, which is available free of charge via the Apple App Store and Google Play. It offers a wealth of information pertaining to emergency preparedness, weather-related and otherwise.
September is observed annually as National Preparedness Month; Herrington expects that the 2020 observance will be a bit different than in the past due to coronavirus, but it will still happen.
Herrington also encourages Floyd County residents to not grow weary in the battle against coronavirus; take steps to eliminate the virus, such as wearing a mask.
