GHC TO HOST MOTIVATION AND MINDSET SUMMIT IN OCTOBER

Georgia Highlands College has announced that it will host its first Motivation and Mindset Summit on October 1st.

This online summit is funded through a University System of Georgia (USG) STEM grant and coincides with the USG’s Momentum Approach to cultivate a productive academic mindset, which includes growth mindset, purpose and social belonging. It will feature workshops by Saundra McGuire, the director emerita of the Center for Academic Success and (now retired) assistant vice-chancellor and professor of chemistry at Louisiana State University.

Jayme Wheeler, the Division Chair for GHC’s School of STEM (or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), says that this event will help all participants to better understand learning as a process.

The details about times, presentations, and other events related to the summit may be found online at www.mindsetsummit.highlands.edu.
