RAIN-OUT LEADS TO BRAVES/YANKEES TWIN BILL TODAY

The Atlanta Braves’ interleague match versus the New York Yankees that had been slated for Tuesday night has been postponed due to rain. It will be made up as a part of a double-header today at Truist Park. First pitch of game one is set for 4:10 pm. Game two will begin 40 minutes after the completion of that first outing. Listen to the twin bill on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM. Air time is 2:55 pm from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.

Top prospect Ian Anderson (former Rome Brave) will make his major league debut as the starting pitcher for Atlanta in game one; Gerritt Cole will head to the mound for New York. Max Fried will serve as the starter for the Braves in game two, while Masahiro Tanaka will pitch for the Yankees.

Ronald Acuna Jr. and Nick Markakis have both been activated from Atlanta’s injured list. Acuna was out of their line-up for a couple of weeks because of a sore wrist, while Markakis was sidelined due to COVID-19 exposure (though he tested negative for the virus).

The Braves were swept by the Yankees in the previous two-game set between the teams two weeks ago at Yankee Stadium. Atlanta currently holds a record of 16-12, as well as first place in the National League East. New York is 16-9 and a game behind the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East.
