MORE THAN 260,000 PEOPLE IN GEORGIA HAVE BEEN INFECTED WITH CORONAVIRUS

Over 260,000 people have been infected with coronavirus in Georgia, per the state Department of Public Health. More than 2,300 new cases and 50 virus-related deaths were reported in the Peach State on Wednesday afternoon. One of those fatalities was here in Floyd County.

According to the latest report by the DPH that was released just before 3 pm, there were 260,590 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. A total of 5,311 fatalities have been attributed to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 2,154 confirmed cases and 30 deaths. Fulton County had the state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 24,211 and the most fatalities with 497.
