GOLFERS INVITED TO ‘TEE IT UP FOR SCOUTING’ ON SEPTEMBER 15TH

The Northwest Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America invites golfers to participate in the “Tee It Up for Scouting” Golf Tournament, scheduled for Tuesday, September 15th at Stonebridge Golf Club in Rome.

Registration is currently open at www.nwgabsa.org/golf, asserts Mary Hardin Thornton, a council representative, who adds that this event is critical to fund raising efforts of the local Boy Scout council, which have all been negatively impacted by COVID-19. Plus, golfing is friendly to social distancing.

The golf tournament is a four-person scramble with two flights; prizes will be awarded to the top two teams in each flight. Other competitions will include “Closest to the Pin”, “Hole In One”, and “Par 3 Poker”.

Sponsorships range in price from $175 for a tee/green sponsor to $5,000 for a plantinum package.

The traditional fund raising efforts of the local Boy Scout council, such as the Popcorn Sale, have taken a hit from this current public health crisis, indicates Eric Vaughn, council representative.
