FLOYD COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, ROME GA CARES, SHERIFF’S POSSE TO OFFER ASSISTANCE TO HURRICANE LAURA VICTIMS

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Rome GA Cares, and the Sheriff’s Posse are teaming up once again to pitch in assistance with hurricane relief efforts, this time for victims of Hurricane Laura.

According to a post on the FCSO Facebook page, the team will provide relief and resources to the smaller communities that were hit hard by the storm, but are not the focal point of major resources. Their departure date from Rome is set for September 21st; they will travel to a location down in Louisiana which is yet to be determined.

Donations towards this effort are welcome and will be accepted at the North Rome Church of God’s warehouse. Further details and a list of needed items are featured on the Facebook post. Volunteers and financial contributions are also sought.

The American Red Cross is providing assistance to the victims of Hurricane Laura. Concerned citizens may contribute to this effort by making a donation at www.redcross.org/donate/hurricane-laura-donations.html/.
