Over 1,500 new cases of COVID-19 and nearly 30 virus-related deaths were reported in Georgia on Monday by the state Department of Public Health.
According to the latest DPH report that was released just prior to 3 pm, there have been 270,471 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the state. A total of 5,633 fatalities have been attributed to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 2,277 confirmed cases and 32 fatalities. Fulton County had the state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 24,891 and the most deaths with 518.

Governor Brian Kemp signed executive orders on Monday which extends the Public Health State of Emergency through 11:59 pm on October 10th, as well as the existing COVID-19 safety measures until 11:59 pm on September 15th. The orders may be viewed online at www.gov.georgia.gov.
