DUVALL HAS THREE-HOMER NIGHT IN BRAVES’ VICTORY OVER RED SOX

The Atlanta Braves beat the Boston Red Sox 7-5 on Wednesday night in the finale of a three-game interleague set at Fenway Park in Boston, allowing the Braves to sweep the series.

One night after Marcell Ozuna became the first National League player to hit three home runs in one game at Fenway, Duvall notched three home runs in a game to include a two-run homer in the second inning, a game-tying two-run bomb in the sixth and a solo shot in the eighth that made it 7-5 in favor of the Braves.

Duvall and Ozuna are the only teammates in MLB history to produce three-homer performances over back-to-back games. Ozuna also hit a tie-breaking solo home run in the seventh inning of Wednesday night’s game.

Tyler Matzek was credited as the winning pitcher, while Mark Melancon got the save for Atlanta. Andrew Triggs took the loss for Boston.

The Braves have today off and will return to action on Friday with a double-header versus the Washington Nationals at Truist Park. Listen to the twin bill on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM. The first pitch of game one is scheduled for 4:10 pm; air time is 2:55 pm.
