HOSPITALITY HOUSE FOR WOMEN, INC TO BENEFIT FROM THE PROCEEDS OF T-SHIRT SALE

The Hospitality House for Women, Inc. encourages community members to demonstrate their support of domestic violence victims and support the cause financially via the purchase of t-shirts and tank tops that are now available at the Hospitality House Thrift Store and online.

The proceeds from the shirt sale will make up for a loss of funding due to the cancellation of the annual Walk A Mile in Her Shoes (which is normally held each October) because of coronavirus concerns, indicates Lynn Rousseau, the Executive Director of Hospitality House. The t-shirts were designed by local artist Monica Sheppard and feature the message “Enough”. An effort is being made to host Walk A Mile virtually as a part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, adds Rousseau.

Tees cost $20 each, while tanks are $22 each. They may be purchased at the Hospitality House’s Thrift Store, which is located at 610 Shorter Avenue, and online at www.hospitalityhouseforwomen.bigcartel.com. A shipping fee will be added to online orders.

The Thrift Store reopened last week after having to close down for a while as an employee had tested positive for coronavirus. The other employees of the store and of the shelter tested negative, according to Rousseau.

Information on current sales at the Thrift Store and pictures of the “Enough” tanks and tees are featured on the Hospitality House for Women, Inc page on Facebook.
