MORE THAN 2,700 NEW CASES OF COVID-19, 75 VIRUS-RELATED FATALITIES REPORTED IN GEORGIA ON THURSDAY

More than 2,700 new cases of COVID-19 and 75 virus-related fatalities were reported in Georgia on Thursday by the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest report by the DPH that was released just before 3 pm, there have been 277,288 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. A total of 5,868 fatalities have been attributed to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 2,417 confirmed cases and 34 fatalities. Fulton County had the state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 25,339 and the most deaths with 531.

Per the DPH’s Northwest Health District, Labor Day weekend testing will be offered at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds, located at 1400 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard in Rome, on Saturday from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm. That site is also open today during those same hours.
