ROME DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY’S BOARD WILL DISCUSS FIDDLIN’ FEST AT THURSDAY MEETING

Will there be a Fiddlin’ Fest 2020? The popular event may or may not return this October, according to Megan Otwell, Director of Public Relations for the Rome Downtown Development Authority, who adds that a final decision will be made at the DDA Board meeting on Thursday. This event typically draws large crowds to downtown Rome, which would not be conducive to the social distancing necessitated by the coronavirus outbreak.

The DDA Board’s monthly meeting will take place at 8:30 am in the Carnegie Training Room of the Carnegie Building, 607 Broad Street.

Plans are in the works for holiday offerings of the Rome DDA, to include the Holiday Open House on November 14th and Rome For The Holidays on each Thursday evening from Thanksgiving to Christmas, says Otwell.

Updates on upcoming events will posted on the Downtown Rome, GA social media outlets to include Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and on the DDA’s website at www.downtownromega.us.

Rome’s Downtown Development Authority has a new Director; Aundi Lesley has been on the job for nearly a month.
