BRAVES CRUISE TO HISTORIC WIN OVER MARLINS

The Atlanta Braves crushed the Miami Marlins 29-9 on Wednesday evening in the finale of a three-game set at Truist Park. It allowed the Braves to make history by setting a National League record for runs in a game in the modern era dating back to 1900 (and avoid being swept by the Marlins).

Adam Duvall contributed nine runs on three homers to include a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning. It marked his second three-homer game in a week.

Freddie Freeman chipped in six RBIs, including a two-run homer in the third on which he notched the 1,500th hit of his career. The Braves tallied a total of seven home runs; Travis d’Arnaud, Ozzie Albies (in his grand return from the injured list), and Ronald Acuna, Jr. also went deep.

The Braves will be in Washington DC this evening for the first of four games against the Nationals. Listen on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM; the first pitch is scheduled for 6:05 pm with air time at 4:50 pm.
