BRAVES BEAT NATIONALS, TAKE NL EAST SERIES IN DC

The Atlanta Braves beat the Washington Nationals 8-4 on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a four-game set at Nationals Park in Washington DC, allowing the Braves to take the NL East series 3-1.

Atlanta was down by a pair of runs as the game headed into the sixth. Adam Duvall hit a two-run homer in the top of the inning that made it 4-4. Ozzie Albies contributed another two-run homer a couple of batters later that gave the Braves the lead.

Kyle Wright earned his first major league win after giving up four runs (only three of them earned) and eight hits, walking two, and striking out four in six innings of work. Max Scherzer took the loss for Washington.

The Braves will be in Baltimore for the first of three interleague outings with the Orioles this evening. First pitch is scheduled for 7:35 pm. The game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 6:20 pm.
