BRAVES DROP SERIES FINALE TO ORIOLES IN BALTIMORE

The Atlanta Braves fell to the Baltimore Orioles 5-1 on Wednesday evening in the finale of a three-game interleague series at Camden Yards in Baltimore, allowing the Orioles to take that series 2-1.

Cole Hamels was tagged with the loss in his Braves debut after surrendering three runs and three hits, walking one and striking out two over three and one third innings of work.

Freddie Freeman notched Atlanta’s lone run of the night on a balk by Orioles reliever Dylan Tate in the top of the sixth.

The Braves’ lead in the NL East now stands at two and a half games with 10 games remaining in the regular season. They’re off tonight and will return to action this weekend with a three-game set in New York against the Mets. The opener on Friday will not be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM due to our coverage of high school; WLAQ will, however, air play-by-play of the remainder of that series from the Braves Radio Network.
