FLOYD EMA DIRECTOR URGES LOCALS TO STAY UPDATED ON LATEST WEATHER REPORTS

In the wake of Sally, now a tropical depression, Floyd County Emergency Management Agency Director Tim Herrington encourages all locals to stay informed about weather. Updates can change at a moment’s notice during a severe weather event.

And there is an app for that! Herrington indicates that the Floyd EMA mobile app is available free of charge through Apple’s App Store and Google Play; it offers information about severe weather (and other emergency situations).The county’s CodeRED Mobile Alert app may be obtained from the Floyd EMA’s mobile app and online at www.romefloyd.com.

This area remains under a Flash Flood Watch until Friday morning at 8 am, according to the National Weather Service.
