State Representative Katie Dempsey of Rome will participate this evening in a virtual recovery town hall meeting to be sponsored by the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse. The Zoom meeting will take place from 6 pm to 7 pm; the meeting ID number is 695 949 293.
The virtual town hall will address addiction and recovery in Georgia, and all participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the panelists. This is one of several events taking place during National Recovery Month, which is recognized each September.
Representative Dempsey says, “I want to encourage Georgians to please join me as I partner with the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse for this very important discussion. Addiction is prevalent in our state, but ‘recovery is real’ and it is achievable for anyone suffering from this terrible disease.”
