BRAVES OPEN LAST HOMESTAND OF 2020 REGULAR SEASON IN VICTORIOUS FASHION OVER MARLINS

The Atlanta Braves opened their final homestand of the 2020 regular season with a win over the Miami Marlins 5-4 on Monday evening at Truist Park. It was the second straight victory for the Braves, whose magic number to clinch the National League East is now three.

Miami jumped to an early lead with three runs off Huascar Ynoa in the top of the first. But Atlanta came charging back with four runs in the bottom of that inning to include a two-run double by Austin Riley.

Tyler Matzek was credited with the win in relief, and Mark Melancon picked up the save for Atlanta. Trevor Rogers took the loss for Miami.

The Braves will face the Marlins in game two of a four game series tonight at Truist Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 pm. Listen to the outing locally on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM; air time is 5:55 pm.
