NL EAST-CHAMPION BRAVES TOP MARLINS AT TRUIST PARK

The National League East-champion Atlanta Braves beat the Miami Marlins 9-4 on Wednesday night in game three of a four-game set at Truist Park; that was the fourth straight win for Atlanta.

Offensive highlights included a three-run homer from Dansby Swanson in the Braves’ five-run fourth inning.

Starting pitcher Max Fried departed the game after the first inning due to an ankle injury. Luke Jackson was credited with the win in relief.

The Braves will go for a sweep of the Marlins in the series finale this evening at 7:10 pm. Listen to that game on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM; air time for pre-game programming is 5:55 pm.

In a post-season update – Atlanta will host NL Wild Card playoff games next week. Game one in that best-of-three series is scheduled for next Wednesday at Truist Park.
