PUBLIC INVITED TO RIBBON CUTTING FOR THE SPLOST-FUNDED MOUNT BERRY TRAIL

The City of Rome invites the public to attend a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of the Mount Berry Trail. The ceremony will be held at the trailhead on Wednesday, September 30th at 10 am.

Kristi Kent, Director of Communications, says that the flat, paved trail spans 1.8 miles and offers plenty of space for social distancing.

Construction of the trail was completed in August. Spriggs Construction was contracted to complete the paving of the trail, which is a joint 2013 SPLOST project between the City of Rome and TRED of Rome/Floyd County.

The trailhead parking lot is located at Coligni Way behind the US Post Office on US 27.

Kent also encourages the public to check out the Rome Shakespeare Festival this weekend at the Town Green next to the Forum River Center. Learn more about the event at www.romeshakespearefestival.com.
