AAA: GEORGIA’S GAS PRICES ROSE SLIGHTLY IN THE PAST WEEK

Georgia’s gas prices rose slightly over the past week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists statewide now pay an average price of $2.00 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline. That’s a cent more than a week ago, two cents less than last month, and 56 cents less than this time last year.

It now costs $30.00 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline; that’s $11.10 less than what motorists paid in April of 2019, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.74 per gallon.

AAA spokeswoman Montrae Waiters says, “Georgians saw a modest increase at the pump this week. The uptick in demand has helped to lift the gas prices, which continue to trend lower than what consumers paid a year ago.”

Sunday’s national average of $2.19 a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was one cent more than a week ago, three cents less than last month, and 46 cents less than this time last year.
