SALVATION ARMY OF ROME IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2020 ANGEL TREE

The Salvation Army of Rome is currently accepting applications for the 2020 Angel Tree.

The Angel Tree program is offered to families to supplement Christmas gifts for their children ages birth to 12 years, according to a Salvation Army media release. There is also an Angel Tree program for seniors age 65 and up.

There are two methods of application – online at www.saangeltree.org, or via phone at (706) 291-4745. Applications will be accepted via the telephone on every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 am to 3 pm. The application period is open from September 29th through December 3rd and is intended for residents of Floyd, Polk, and Chattooga Counties.

Those who apply by phone must take one of the following documents to the Salvation Army office at 317 East 1st Avenue (between the hours of 8:30 am to 3 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays):

  • Birth certificates or Medicaid card for all children in household
  • Food stamp letter; SNAP letter
  • Proof of income for applicant
  • Proof of residency (first page of mortgage or lease showing address)
  • Photo ID for applicant

Failure to supply the needed documents by December 3rd will result in being eliminated from the Angel Tree program.
