GHC MARKS 50TH ANNIVERSARY WITH DIGITAL ARCHIVE, GNTC STUDENT CHRISTINA BULLOCK IS FIRST RUNNER UP FOR TCSG’S STUDENT OF THE YEAR

Georgia Highlands College marks its 50th anniversary in 2020. As part of the celebration, the college’s library has made it possible to view historic college memorabilia from any computer or smart device through creation of a digital archive, now available at www.50years.highlands.edu.

Danielle Griesemer, Archives Assistant, attests, “These items really showcase what type of memorabilia was expected to come from a college back then to now. Many of our items actually come from former students either through a donation or on loan.”

The school now known as GHC opened in 1970 as Floyd Junior College.

In other news that involves a local college, Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s Christina Bullock has been named first runner-up for 2020 Student of the Year by the Technical College System of Georgia.
