AAA: GEORGIA’S GAS PRICES DROPPED SLIGHTLY DURING THE PAST WEEK

Georgia’s gas prices declined slightly over the past week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists are now paying the average price of $1.99 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline; that’s one cent less than a week ago, five cents less than last month, and 52 cents less than this time last year.

It now costs $29.85 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline; that’s $11.25 less than what motorists paid in April of 2019, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.74 per gallon.

Montrae Waiters, AAA Spokeswoman, states, “Georgia gas prices decreased minimally by one to two cents or saw no change at the pump. That is likely to continue into the fall season as motorists take fewer road trips, especially amid the pandemic.”

Sunday’s national average of $2.19 per gallon of regular unleaded was a cent less than last week, three cents less than last month, and 47 cents less than at this same time last year.
