BRAVES TAKE 2-0 LEAD IN ’20 NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES WITH WIN OVER DODGERS

The Atlanta Braves took a 2-0 lead in the ’20 National League Championship Series with an 8-7 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game Two at Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX on Tuesday night. It marked the Braves’ seventh consecutive postseason victory.

Freddie Freeman led the charge offensively with three RBIs, including a two-run homer that got Atlanta on the board in the top of the fourth inning. It was Freddie’s second straight evening with a postseason bomb.

Atlanta posted four more runs in the fifth and one each in the seventh and the ninth. Ozzie Albies had two RBIs; he also homered for the second night in a row.

Los Angeles attempted a comeback during the bottom of the ninth, but Mark Melancon came to the rescue and got the save. Tyler Matzek was credited as the winning pitcher (in relief) for Atlanta. Starter Ian Anderson gave up only one hit over four scoreless innings, walked five, and struck out five.

The Braves will face the Dodgers in Game Three of the NLCS tonight. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 pm. The outing will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 4:50 pm.
