FLOYD EMA DIRECTOR REMINDS THE PUBLIC THAT TESTING FOR COVID-19 CONTINUES AT THE FAIRGROUNDS, URGES FLU SHOTS

Coronavirus testing continues at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds in Rome. It’s offered every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm, as well as the first and third Saturday of every month from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Tim Herrington, the Director of the Floyd County Emergency Management Agency, anticipates heightened activity at the testing site as we move deeper into flu season. By the way, he says, go get your flu shot!

Health officials have emphasized that their goal is to avert a ‘twin-demic’ with both the coronavirus and the flu.
