AAA: GEORGIA’S GAS PRICES HELD STEADY DURING THE PAST WEEK

Georgia’s gas prices continued to hold steady during the past week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists statewide paid an average price of $2.00 per gallon of regular unleaded. That’s the same as last week and as last month, and 44 cents less than this time last year. Gas prices in some Georgia cities are below $1.90 a gallon. Rome is among metro markets statewide that offer cheaper gas prices with an average of $1.95 a gallon.

It now costs Georgians $30.00 to fill up a 15-gallon tank of gasoline. That is $11.10 less than what motorists paid in April 2019, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.74 per gallon.

AAA spokeswoman Montrae Waiters asserts, “Pump prices continue to trend lower than what Georgians paid this time last year. As demand declines, gas prices will likely continue to drop due to fewer road trips taken in the fall.”

Sunday’s national average of $2.17 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is two cents less than last week, one cent less than last month, and 49 cents less than this time last year.
