Advance in-person voting in the November 3rd general election continues this week. The Elections Office, located in the county’s Administration Building on East 4th Avenue, and Garden Lakes Baptist Church, 2200 Redmond Circle, remain open to early voters from 8 am to 5 pm every weekday. A third early voting location will be open today through Friday during those same hours at the Floyd County Health Department, 16 East 12th Street.
Many local voters took advantage of advance in-person voting over this past weekend. It will be offered again this coming weekend. Ballots may be cast at the Elections Office from 9 am to 4 pm both Saturday and Sunday, as well as at Garden Lakes Baptist Church from 9 am to 4 pm this Saturday and from 1 pm to 4 pm this Sunday.
A third week of early voting will be offered next week at the Elections Office and the church, as well as at the Rome Civic Center.
Efforts will be made to keep early voters safe in this era of coronavirus, says Dr. Thomas Rees, the Chairman of the Floyd County Board of Elections and Registration.
Pack your patience if you intend to vote early. Numerous advance in-person voters in Floyd County reported long lines last week.
