PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICIALS URGE THOSE EXPOSED TO COVID-19 TO ENTER A PERIOD OF QUARANTINE TO PREVENT COMMUNITY SPREAD OF THE VIRUS

Public health officials are urging those with exposure to COVID-19 to enter a period of quarantine, whether or not those individuals exhibit any symptoms. Dr. Gary Voccio, Health Director of the Georgia Department of Public Health Northwest Health District, says that the ultimate goal is to prevent the spread of this highly-contagious virus.

Dr. Voccio also reminds residents districtwide to get a flu shot. An uptick in flu cases this season, coupled with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, could overwhelm local hospitals.
