COOSA RIVER BASIN INITIATIVE ENCOURAGES LOCALS TO VOTE ‘YES’ TO AMENDMENT 1 ON NOVEMBER 3RD BALLOT

The Coosa River Basin Initiative is encouraging locals to vote in support of a constitutional amendment that appears on Georgians’ ballots in the November 3rd general election which would ensure that all of the fees and taxes collected for specific purposes would be used for those purposes.

Jesse Demonbreun-Chapman, Executive Director, states that his organization has rallied for years to garner support of the Trust Fund Honesty Amendment, intended to curb misappropriation of funds.

This amendment would give the Georgia General Assembly the authority to dedicate revenues from fees and taxes to the public purpose for which they’re intended. Demonbreun-Chapman believes that this will build accountability into the state’s budget.

Demonbreun-Chapman directs voters to www.trustfundhonesty.org for more information about the amendment and its origins.
