FLOYD COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT TO RESUME JURY TRAILS IN DECEMBER

The Floyd County Superior Court has announced plans to resume jury trials in December. Chief Judge Bryant Durham “urges all citizens to respond to a summons to be a juror. Our courts have been closed since March, so we need to get back to the business of justice.”

Protocols will be followed to protect the public from coronavirus, such as pre screening with temperature checks, social distancing, a mask requirement and frequent cleaning of surfaces throughout the day.

Floyd County has made the Forum River Center available to Superior Court to allow for social distancing.

A detailed plan for the resumption of jury trials may be located on the Rome-Floyd website at www.romefloyd.com/departments/superior-court.
