Nearly 363,000 people in Georgia have (or have had) COVID-19 while the death toll is nearing 8,000, per the state Department of Public Health, which reported 1,016 new cases and 19 virus-related deaths on Monday.
According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 362,921 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the state. A total of 7,999 fatalities have been attributed to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 4,135 confirmed cases and 61 deaths. Fulton County had the state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 31,843 and the most fatalities with 628.
