MORE THAN 366,000 PEOPLE IN GEORGIA HAVE (OR HAVE HAD) COVID-19; FLOYD AMONG COUNTIES WITH HIGH TRANSMISSION INDICATORS

More than 366,000 people in Georgia have (or have had) coronavirus, per the state Department of Public Health, which reported 1,890 new cases as well as 44 virus-related deaths on Wednesday.

According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 366,452 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the state. A total of 8,072 fatalities have been attributed to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 4,220 confirmed cases and 61 deaths. Fulton County had the state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 32,134 and the most fatalities with 629.

The seven-day average of new cases reported rose by 4 percent, as stated via an update on COVID-19 trends in Georgia by the DPH. Floyd County is still among counties statewide with high transmission indicators.
