THANKSGIVING LOVE FEAST WILL BE HELD THIS YEAR, IT WILL JUST LOOK A LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN IN YEARS PAST

The annual Thanksgiving Love Feast will be held this year, it will just look a little different than it has in years past.

This feast will be offered on Thanksgiving Day to those who might not have the ability to prepare and enjoy their own meal. Reverend Terrell Shields, the Chairman of the Concerned Citizens of Rome and Floyd County, asserts that an event like this is needed now more than ever, as so many people have been negatively impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Food will be served from 10 am until 2 pm (or until it runs out) at the Rome Civic Center on a take-out basis; there will be no inside dining. Shields says that there will be outside dining if the weather is favorable. Delivery will also be available who do not have transportation.

Volunteers and donations are sought for the Thanksgiving Love Feast. Those interested in serving as a volunteer should contact Shields at (706) 234-2091. Coats and jackets will again be offered to those in need at the Love Feast and may be taken to the Civic Center on Wednesday, November 25th from 6 pm to 8 pm; desserts may also be dropped off at that time. Those who plan to cook turkey and dressing are asked to take those to the Civic Center between 8 am and 9 am on Thanksgiving Day.

Those who would like to financially contribute to the Love Feast may send a check payable to the “Thanksgiving Love Feast” to P.O. Box 161, Rome, GA 30161. Monetary donations may also be submitted via the Cash App; search for $Lovefeast1987.
