ROME DDA: LOCAL BUSINESSES NEED YOUR SUPPORT DURING THIS HOLIDAY SEASON MORE THAN EVER!

Rome’s Downtown Development Authority encourages the public to support local businesses during the holiday season as these businesses need assistance now more than ever.
Megan Otwell, Director of Public Relations, says that while it may be easier to shop online these days, it is crucial to shop at local businesses since many of them have been negatively impacted in 2020 by the COVID-19 pandemic. She adds that money spent with these merchants is circulated back into Rome and Floyd County.

If you don’t feel like braving the masses this holiday season, reach out to your favorite local business. A lot of the merchants in downtown Rome are willing to accommodate your concerns, asserts Otwell.

Downtown businesses will be open late on Thursdays between Thanksgiving until Christmas Eve as part of Rome for the Holidays, a feature that has been expanded from one night to three nights for this year. Otwell urges shoppers to stay tuned to the Rome DDA’s social media outlets for updates.
