NUMBER OF CORONAVIRUS INFECTIONS NEARS 394,000 ACROSS GEORGIA; TWO VIRUS-RELATED DEATHS REPORTED IN FLOYD COUNTY ON WEDNESDAY

Nearly 394,000 people in Georgia have (or have had) the coronavirus, per the state Department of Public Health, which reported 2,562 new cases as well as 42 virus-related fatalities on Wednesday afternoon. Two of those deaths were reported in Floyd County.

According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 393,980 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the state. A total of 8,536 fatalities have been attributed to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 4,704 confirmed cases and 69 deaths. Fulton County had the state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 34,839 and the most deaths with 653.
