GEORGIA’S NUMBER OF CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASES ROSE BY OVER 2,700 ON THURSDAY

Georgia’s number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose by 2,735 on Thursday, per the Georgia Department of Public Health, which additionally reported 40 virus-related deaths (including one in Floyd County).

According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 396,641 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the state. A total of 8,569 fatalities have been attributed to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 4,741 confirmed cases and 70 deaths. Fulton County had the state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 35,089 and the most fatalities with 653.
